"Here Are Two Alternative Methods For
Finding Targeted Free Website Content..."

Drop Capitlasf you have a content based website that is focused around business and marketing, I'm sure you already know that there is virtually a limitless supply of free articles available to you.

In exchange for adding the author's signature line with a link back to their site, you can start adding articles to your site within minutes.

However, with many niche markets it can be very hard to find relevant and up to date free content for your sites.

Of course, there is no substitute for either writing your own, or getting someone else to write fresh content for your site. For many of us though, that's not always an option.

If you do ever struggle to find relevant free content for your site, here are two methods that a lot of people still don't know about or use:

Press/News Releases -

Press releases are being created and distributed on almost every conceivable subject, on a daily basis. A site I have used a lot to get free content is http://www.prweb.com. Click on their 'search archives' tab and type in your chosen keywords. For best results choose the 'all' option. This will return press releases containing all the words you typed in. Whereas the 'any' option, is likely to throw up many more unrelated resuts.

If you add inverted commas (" ") around your keyword phrase, the search will only return press releases with that 'exact' phrase contained within it.

These press releases have been primarily written to get maximum exposure, so you are free to publish these articles on your website, as long as you don't alter the article and keep the signature line intact.

Google Alerts -

'Google Alerts' is a fairly new service from Google, which at the time of writing is still being 'Beta' tested. You can use the service without registering, but as it's free to register I highly recommend you do so. Here's the link to it: http://www.google.co.uk/alerts

Just follow the 'Sign in' link to find details of how to register.

Once you are registered you can set up and manage your 'Alerts' more effectively.

So what are 'Alerts'?

There are essentially three different types: News, Web and a combination of them both.

News Alert - You type in a keyword phrase, and Google will e-mail you when a new article enters the top 10 search results in Google's news service for that keyword phrase.

Web Alert - You will be e-mailed when a new web page enters the top 20 search results for the keyword phrase you specify.

If you are just looking for new content, then the 'News Alert' is the one you need. This is basically a way of getting relevant content come to you, instead of you spending your own time hunting around for it.

You have to be careful. Just because Google sends you 'news alert', doesn't mean you can automatically reprint the article. If an article is meant for distribution you will normally see a signature line under the article, with a link back to the originating site. You should always check with the original author if you are not sure whether you can place the news article on your site. In any case, whenever you reprint someone's article, you should always include the signature line with the link intact.

I should make it clear, that you are extremely unlikely to hit the top of the search engines with these press release articles. By the time you put one on your site, the exact same article will have been posted on a number of high traffic sites. As a rule, Google doesn't pay much attention to duplicate content.

However, these news releases will certainly help you if you want to beef up your website content a bit, and make your site look like it contains plenty of useful information for your visitors. If you regularly place more up to date relevant content on your sites, you will virtually guarantee an increase in the amount of repeat visitors you get.

As a lot of these press releases are deliberately keyword rich to attract the search engines, they are also great for creating pages with Google AdSense ads on. Not forgetting the odd affiliate promotion, if it's appropriate.

That's all for today, I hope you find this information useful.

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and new year!
