Free advertising on the Conquer Your Niche Forum

Conquer Your Niche is a new forum you are going to hear a lot about, and I’m sure that those who jump in and promote this in the first few days and weeks, are going to be the ones who benefit most. This is why I’m alerting you about it as soon as I could.

I want to give you my balanced view on this opportunity, and share something that no one else is probably going to tell…

  • You get 1/2 an advertising credit for reading forum posts. Every credit earned gets your ad displayed once.
  • You get paid 5 ad credits for every post you make.
  • You can either advertise your own websites, or promote products with your affiliate link. So you don’t need a website to take advantage of this.
  • Your classified ads get placed on the forum - see example above.
  • You earn credits from the advertising of every single person you refer, down 5 levels.
  • You can also earn commission from everyone who buys the OTO (one time offer) upgrade. More on this in a moment.

Things to note…

The only ads that are really worth posting, are going to be ones that are for business related products and services. If you don’t have a product like this, you can just post ads using your affiliate links for any product you choose to promote.

The Upgrade Offer - OTO

It’s common practise these days to get offered a big one time offer deal when you sign up to something, especially things that are free. This is no different.

You get offered a load of additional bonus products, but the real deal is that you can upgrade your forum membership to ‘Elite Status’.

‘Elite Status’ means:

  • You then earn 1 credit for reading posts.
  • ‘20′ credits for making posts.
  • You can use HTML in your ads to make them stand out with color.
  • You get to rotate up to 5 ads so you can test which ads perform better for you.

TOP TIP: You get told that this offer will only be shown to you once. I tested that out and found this not to be true, at least at the moment. I joined yesterday, and logged back in today, and there is still a link on the forum to upgrade my membership.

By sharing this, I will be losing out on some commission, but I like to report things exactly as I see them.

EDIT: After writing this Russell pointed out that the OTO is in fact $197, not $297 as I had thought. I must have interpreted the price wrong when I looked at. Russell does mention a few prices, which confused me a bit.

So the original OTO does change if you choose to ignore it when you register. You have the option of still getting the upgrade at the higher price if you turn it down the first time.

Why am I telling you this?

In all honesty, because I don’t know if the upgrade is worth the money yet. It’s too soon to tell, because the forum only went live yesterday. I just haven’t had time to test it, but I wanted to tell you about this as soon as I can, to give you the best opportunity to profit from this at the beginning.

There has already been nearly 2000 posts and thousands of views in the first 24 hours. One thing is certain, this is going to be one super busy forum over the next few months at least.

The problem with this forum is that there is already of ton of self promotion and blatent 'I'm a guru and your not'.

It's a big turnoff with very little moderation.

I like the concept a lot, but the focus just isn't there.

I share your concerns Keith, which is why I didn't want to over hype this, or recommend the upgrade until we can see how things go.

They do have a load of rules posted up as a sticky, and I was impressed to see so many moderators for a brand new forum. So they are taking some steps to try and make the forum worthwhile. It's not going to be easy to police, that's for sure.

Definitely a brilliant list building machine for Russell, and a good idea.

Time will tell whether they can harness all this traffic, and turn it into a forum worth using over time.

    Jason,

Appreciate you honesty and candor (as usual). This is just another bunch of wannabes marketing their products, or worse, over-hyped affiliate products to other desperate wannabes. As you astutely pointed out, Russell Brunson is the one coming out of this with the benefit of a huge new list. What benefit, if any, others get out of this exercise is questionable and remains to be seen.

    Hey Jason -

We're working as fast as we can on the moderation. As with anything like this there will be some growing pains.

Also - the OTO is $197 - if you buy from members area it's $297... that's what the OTO says also - that in the members area you can get it for $297. :)

    Talk soon

To Russell & teams credit, the moderators are working quickly - I flagged a post last night and it was gone within minutes.

    Appreciate your post Russell -

The reason I said that about the OTO was because I was certain I saw $297 when I first signed up. I obviously didn't read all the sales copy, and missed the $197 offer. Thanks for clearing that up.

One thing though, when you click on the upgrade offer from within the forum, the sales copy still gives you the impression that the $297 price will not be made again if you close the window, but it still remains there when you log back in and click on the upgrade link. Might be worth looking at, unless I've missed something else?

Anyway, glad to hear about your efforts on moderation. I did comment on the high amount of moderators you had, which I thought was good.

Thanks for the feedback Michelle. Mods have obviously got their work cut out for the time being.

It will take a little time for people to realise the rules will actually be enforced by the mods. Once people start seeing a few toes being trodden on, that should straighten things out a bit and make people think before they post.

I do like the fact that you can't run up credits by keep visiting the same thread over and over.

    Hey Jason -

Hmm - good point. It's cause i used the OTO copy for the upgrade in the members area... I'll go back and carefully re-read it and cut out the parts that make it sound like a OTO also.

    Thanks again,
    Russell

I realize the forum is moderated, but how will they detect low quality or frivolous posts?
I've seen beginners post some trival questions, so how can you judge what's real and what isn't. For instance, several people could prearrange to have one person post questions and another give responses.
It seems to me that when you "pay" for posts, you open yourself to spam posts.

    Hello.

Nice site design. Okay, I need your advice.
So, I wanna make online-store, and I am looking for site template.
Can you suggest some online catalog or other resource where I can find many site templates?

It would be better if it will be free:)
I think many of us have personal sites, do you design it yourself?

    Thanks a lot, Bill.

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for the compliment on my site design ;-)

I have always designed all my websites myself. In the beginning it was because I didn't have much money, and had to learn how to do it.

I could outsource it now as I do with some other tasks, but I still do the design because I enjoy it.

I can't really recommend any one particular place for templates. There are tons of websites online providing free templates. Just go to Google and type in 'free website templates' and you will find lots of them.

If you are learning how to build a site, I think it's a lot easier to find a template that is close to what you would like, and then adapt it. Instead of trying to build your first site from scratch.

    Jason
